Qualifications

12 – 15 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10 – 13 years experience.

 
 

Adept in implementing ITIL principle in large scale ITSM organization (10,000 supported user community).

 

Excellent communication skills.

 

Experience with a GFE automated tool to support configuration management

 

Experience working with ServiceNow.

 

Work with Federal counterparts and/or support staff.

 

Subject matter expertise in HHS environment.

 

 

ITILv3 Intermediate or Expert Level.

 

 

All candidates must be U.S. citizens and currently hold, or be eligible for public trust clearances.  Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive configuration management on all government approved infrastructure systems. Develops an appropriate configuration management strategy. Identifies and articulates major change in an initiative. Develops specific transition and communication strategies. Configures and administer tools designed to support configuration management. Coordinates and facilitates change review board meetings. Manages a team of up to 10 people.

 

Often heads one or more departments. Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or multiple projects. Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility. Determines candidates for employment/termination, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff and is responsible for the application of company policies.

 

Establishes and maintains configuration and data management policies and procedures to be utilized by department personnel and other participating functions to ensure a standard and cost effective approach to the application of configuration and data management requirements. Manages the development and maintenance of configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products. Knows and understands software configuration management concepts, goals, benefits and standard strategies to achieve those goals. Ensures the integrity, reliability and reproducibility of developing products from conception to release. Builds a liaison with quality teams on improving test coverage of automated tests and staging releases as they are tested by the Quality Assurance function. Monitors Service Level Agreements to make certain they are being met. Coordinates with developers and engineers on matters related to code check-ins, change tracking, build failures and communicating results of analysis. Automates unit and integration tests executed just before builds are handed over to Quality Assurance. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Works with standard commercial software products used for configuration management (e.g. ClearCase, Subversion, JSMART, Razor, TeamWare, etc.)
